Slay or Nay

Platform

iOS

Available on the App Store.

Core loop

Photo to feedback

Upload an outfit and get a clear response without a long setup.

Why I made it

Image-based AI can feel slow and generic when the product is only a prompt box around a model. I made Slay or Nay around one clear action and a response with enough personality to be useful.

What I built

  1. 01

Designed a short camera and upload flow for checking an outfit in the moment.

  2. 02

Shaped the feedback to be concise, opinionated, and easy to scan on a phone.

  3. 03

Built and released the iOS app with React Native and Expo.

The key decision

The hard part was making the AI response feel like part of the app rather than raw model output. The tone had to be decisive without becoming vague or needlessly harsh.

Under the hood

The React Native app handles photo input, analysis states, result presentation, and the return flow for another check.

Outcome

Slay or Nay is available on the App Store as a focused styling tool with a quick photo-to-feedback loop.
