Why I made it

A stand-up special feels spontaneous, but its stories and callbacks form a deliberate structure. I wanted to make that structure visible without reducing the performance to a list of isolated jokes.

What I built

    Split the 11,208-word transcript into 34 chronological sections.

  2. 02

    Grouped the sections into five themes covering personal stories, public life, media, family, and politics.

  3. 03

    Built interactive charts that let readers follow both the order of the show and the weight of each theme.

The key decision

The analysis had to stay readable without stripping the jokes of their context. I kept the chronology visible so individual passages could always be understood as part of the full performance.

Under the hood

Python supports the transcript analysis, while Apache ECharts and JavaScript power the interactive report.

Outcome

The report gives readers a new way to see the rhythm, balance, and narrative construction of a 90-minute performance.
